For aviation security, Singapore strongly believes that a coordinated effort by ICAO Contracting States is required to effectively address emerging security risks to ring-fence the global aviation security system from these threats.

Following the active role we played in the development of an ICAO-led harmonised response to the threat of liquid explosives onboard aircraft, we continue to actively participate in the ICAO AVSEC Panel and in helping the body to chart the future direction for aviation security.

We are also one of the founding members of the ICAO public key directory system for biometric passports that was implemented to further tighten the level of global aviation security through the use of technology.
