We can maximise the potential of our available resources through the management of private transport usage such as controlling the vehicle population growth rate, refining our Electronic Road Pricing system, and improving schemes, such as the Off-Peak Car scheme and Park and Ride scheme, to reduce car usage.

Fuel economy for both private and public transport is also another integral element to the improvement of resource efficiency. For the former, a Fuel Economy Labelling Scheme for passenger cars and light goods vehicles has been in place since April 2009. As for the public transport sector, LTA has put in place the Green Framework for rail systems, and will be carrying out the test-bedding of new technologies such as diesel-hybrid buses.
